| | Say hello to a Born Again Leapfrogger! | | I've always thought leapfrogging was a waste of good writing time, so I've only ever done it if I've found glaring typos, which doesn't happen very often, I have to say.Two of my friends from MyLot have now joined Helium, and they are rather concerned that I have no writing stars and they do. I wasn't too concerned about this, as I earn a respectable residual income, but one friend in particular has analysed my articles and advised me which ones to leapfrog to get my writing score up and earn some stars. She's much more practical than I am.Anyway, on Monday, I decided to try it out, and I'm keeping a chart to see how the articles do after leapfrog. I have to say, I'm amazed at the results. Of the 12 leapfrogs so far accepted, 7 have gone up from almost at the bottom of the pile to the top 25%. One zoomed up from 54 of 58 to 5 of 58. Even an article that was rejected for the leapfrog has moved to number 2 in the rankings.So, before I write anything new, I'm going to work through my 200+ articles leapfrogging like mad. I hope to have a writing star by the weekend.How about you? Do you leapfrog? Does it work for you? Any good tips for my other leapfrogs? | |
| | Would you want to learn your baby's gender before he/she is born? | | Relative to what I posted earlier, in this modern times, we now have a choice to know a baby's gender even while still in the womb. When my wife and I were asked if we wanted to know our baby's sex through the ultrasound, we readily answered yes. We had discussed it earlier before she went for the exam and agreed to know.How would you and your wife respond? Would you also want to know your baby's sex before she comes out to the world? or would you rather wait until his/her birthday? | |
| | I'm so disappointed that I was born too early.... | | The technology we have now was not as good as it should be, So I believe I wont be alive and when some epic events in history would happen. I want to be alive when the time scientist had found a way to clean polluted rivers in ocean. I wont be alive when The Planet Mars was terraformed, Somehow there was still a chance on my lifetime to see the planned human outpost to the earth's moon. I want to be alive when the cure for aging was discovered and I also want to be alive during the time were my country was not a 3rd world country anymore. I think you are born with certain level of intelligence(IQ), but how you stimulate the child to learn it is going to make a big difference in his/her learning process and academical success through his/her whole life. Values like perseverance and honestly must be teach in order to the learning process is integral. But every once in a while you see some boy or girl extremelly intelligent, that learn by himself, that has never been stimulated by his parents to do anything, and it is brilliant, so the debate is, what is more important your IQ? the stimulation that your parents give you? or both? | |
| | Do you think we are born knowing how to kiss or we have to learn how to kiss? | | Chinese people normally and usually do not kiss people while saying hello. We usually shake hands when saying a polite hello to someone. For close friends, we usually just say hi when seeing each other and of course with a sincere smile. There are people hugging each other, but just a few. Some men said they learn how to kiss by watching the western movies. Some girls said their boy friends do not know how to kiss, so making the girls feel uncomfortable. Moreover, some even complained about their partners did destroy their mood while kissing them. I do not know if it is the problem among Chinese or some Asian. What is your opinion? | |

| | | Born Again or Just a Good Person? | | I know some of you have seen this before.I saw my old apt. manager today and thought about how when I first moved in, she was always saying "God Bless You", mentioning how being born-again got her off drugs and making a big deal about having to go to church (instead of tend to her duties of keeping up the premises). In less than two yrs., she was dropping all kinds of F-bombs and having these fall-outs for all to see. Then when her stint ended (she got a gig in real estate), she was back to blessing folks.When I used to attend church, I would see different family members go before the pulpit in tears and after everyone in church hugged them, they would renounce every vice (alcohol, profanity, loose partners, etc) publicly. Then after a year or two (maybe less), they would slowly slip and have an excuse ('Just one time, it won't hurt anything' or 'God will forgive me.')Now, I say why go through all the drama of quoting scriptures and get out there and help people without a lot of fuss. Especially in these times when I lot of people are both mentally and monetarily impoverished. | |
